He doesn't play "toxic" songs?!? What the heck does that mean?? It doesn't sound good, and if anything, I'm sure "toxic" songs are the ones I probably have the best time dancing to! So, I was a little hesitant about the DJ choice for my brother's wedding. I was the Best Man, and the DJ is generally my duty, but since the wedding was far away, I had to concede this duty to others.
AND, IT TOTALLY WORKED OUT.
Jon and his crew from J & M were AWESOME! He worked with my brother & "new" sister early on, and this made for an awesome event and party. The wedding was on the beach at Bodega Bay/Doran Beach. The reception afterword was at the Bodega Harbour Yacht Club House on the water. Jon hooked up a PA System on the beach. This was very useful since along with a great day, we also enjoyed some raging onshore Pacific gales. The PA system allowed everyone to hear the ceremony.
For dinner at the Club, Jon and his crew were extremely helpful with ensuring a flow to the evening. They had a PA system set up upstairs in the dining area, and also their DJ system and lighting downstairs for the dancing later. Jon served as the MC during the dinner. I was nastily nervous about my Best Man speech, but Jon was pretty good at calming me down and making it easy and not out of place.
As for the post-dinner festivities, we had a SLAMMIN' party! Yes, our crew is hella cool, and we know how to rock the house, but Jon and his crew totally helped to make it go down! They played all kinds of music (I didn't have to worry about the lack of "toxic" tunes). Y'know, I can see how it IS hard to DJ for events like this. You have a mixed crowd. You have all kinds of generations to appease, and get out on the dance floor. It's tough, but Jon did what he was supposed to do: help create a fun time!
By the end of the night my suit coat was off, my tie went from my neck to around my head, my button-down shirt was stripped off and twirled skyward, and I was on the floor break-dancing.

8/6/2010 J & M Entertainment DJ'ed our wedding a couple weeks ago and they were phenomenal. Very professional, on time, and know how to throw a party. Many people came up to my wife and I and said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and this is no doubt because of the hard work that J & M put into making it an awesome party. The lights and sound system are top of the line and the MC-ing kept the party going from start to finish (at which we had to stop because of the noise permit; despite everyone's pleas to keep going). Jon is a true professional with a knack for keeping all ages involved in the party. There is absolutely no one i would ever consider to DJ a party of mine in the future other than J & M entertainment. Simply put, they are the best!!!!!!!

It's been on my mind to write you and tell you how much we appreciated having you DJ our big day. It was absolutely perfect!! It was so great having you as our DJ because we had complete peace of mind knowing YOU and not worrying about what weird things might be said!!
I was at my parents house yesterday and we were talking about how great you and Diane Barrett were. Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you, to you and your crew, for making our girl’s special day ROCK!!!! From the very first meeting, you captured the bride and groom’s vision and helped work with them to make it a reality! From start to finish you were there working together with our coordinator, the event center staff, and the caterer, to keep the flow going! I can’t remember ever having so much fun. We were free to enjoy every moment, knowing the party was in great hands!! It’s a week later, and we’re still re-living all the moments! Thank you…Thank you…Thank you!!! Thank you so much for being part of our special day. It was truly an honor to have you as well. Everyone kept telling my parents and zack and I that it was the best wedding they had been to, and I know that had a lot to do with you. Tell Mary-Ann thank you so much for taking all those pictures! I cant wait to see them. She was amazing! The day wouldn't have been the same without the both of you.
